New License Requirements
A copy of your training certificate (Must be less than three (3) years old)
A completed application
A valid photo ID
A 2x2 color headshot picture (Must be less than thirty (30) days old)
Renewal License Requirements
Your current or expired CCW license
A completed application
A valid photo ID
Emergency License Requirements
Evidence of imminent danger
A written document prepared by law enforcement, a governmental entity or public official (e.g., Reports, TPO or CPO)
A completed application
A 2x2 color headshot photo (Must be less than thirty (30) days old)
Applications are accepted during the following hours:

It is best to make an appointment but we do accept walk-ins on weekdays provided an officer is available. You may call ahead to verify that an officer will be available if you decide to walk-in.

An appointment is not necessary for an emergency application.
Effective July 1st, 2021
We are only able to process CCW applications if you live in Ashland County or a county adjacent to Ashland County. The adjacent counties are Holmes, Huron, Knox, Lorain, Medina, Richland, and Wayne.

We will accept exact cash (We do not have change available), money orders, credit cards and debit cards There is a service charge of $2.00 for each debit card transaction and $2.00 or 3% (Whichever is greater) for each credit card transaction. We do not accept personal checks.
Effective November 5th, 2018
Concealed Carry application fees and training requirements will be waived for all active, reserve or honorably discharged members of the United States armed forces and for any person who has retired from the United States armed forces.
This waiver will apply to both new and renewal applications. You must be able to produce proof that you are either currently a member of the United States armed forces or were honorably discharged or retired from the United States armed forces.
